All of the UARTs below are functionally equivalent. They
are all interchangeable. The 16450 has a one byte transmit and one byte
receive buffer, the 16550 has 16 bytes of receive and 16 bytes of
transmit buffers, while the 16650 has 32 bytes of transmit and 32 bytes
of receive buffers
