I have an ISA multiport card installed. I have selected an available IRQ and address range. I can open the port, however data will not be transmitted or received. What is the problem?

The problem usually occurs on motherboards that have both PCI and ISA slots. On these motherboards, all the IRQs may be steered to the PCI slots only by default. You may need to go into your BIOS and reserve the IRQ you selected for the multiport card.
