Introduction
In our last newsletter we told you we were working on the .NET offering of
our product line.
We continue to work on this. However, you dictate what we must continue to
do. We have had several request for additions to COMM-DRV/Lib and based on
the number of requests for these we went ahead and created version 19.0 of
the product. See the section COMM-DRV/Lib Upgrade for specifics.
PCMCIA RS232, RS485, & RS422 Cards
 As
you may have noticed, many of the new laptops are being sold without
serial ports. They all however have PCMCIA sockets. To fill this gap we
have added a new line of PCMCIA cards. These include 1, 2, & 4 port RS232,

Note that these cards are fully supported by all of our serial
communication tools, libraries, and utilities. Specifically for those
engineers that need high performance features like microsecond time

seamless fit.

RS232 Bluetooth®
Wireless Devices
 We
currently evaluating a Bluetooth wireless device. This device will have a
range of 100 to 300 feet between the two serial ports. In effect, the
creation of a very long wireless serial cable. As soon as FCC approval is
granted on this device, we hope to add it to our repertoire. If this is a
device that you are considering, please send us a note at
sales@wcscnet.com. We will inform
you as soon as we have concluded our conformance testing. Our tests so far
are very promising.
