Please send your suggestions and let us know what you want to see in .NET with respect to your serial/RS232 requirements. What languages are you using mostly? C#? VB? C/C++?

We began working on Windows CE/Pocket PC offerings but have temporarily placed this on hold as most of you have told us that other areas were of more importance. Our current intentions are to concurrently work on

New COMM-DRV/NT Examples

We have added several new COMM-DRV/NT examples. They are listed below.

CdrvNTVBExam.zip Visual Basic 6 example that illustrates usage including the nine bit protocol and the multidrop protocol.
CdrvNTDlgs.zip Dialog box DLL (user interface) for entering data required by COMM-DRV/NT functions. It can be called from C/C++, Visual Basic, or any language or tool that can call DLLs.
MSigMon.zip Visual C/C++ MFC example application that monitors/counts the modem signal transitions. It does it using the embedded counts in the kernel driver as well as by counting modem signal events effected by the kernel driver.
ToglMSig.zip Visual C/C++ MFC  example application that toggles either RTS, DTR, or BREAK, at the frequency
that applied to the time interval specified by the user.

COMM-DRV/NT Notes

  1. Over the last few weeks many of you have asked how long does it take the RTS signal to drop after a multidrop packet has been transmitted. The test on the oscilloscope on the right shows the RTS drop clearly. COMM-DRV/NT's response is less than a character time.

  2. COMM-DRV/NT can timestamp all inputted bytes to µsec resolution. It supports this under Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT.
